PRISONERS OF WAR.
TO BE TRANSFERRED TO FEATHERSTON
In view of Somes Island being required by the Health Department for quarantine purposes, it has been decided to remove the German prisoners-of-war there to Featherston Camp. The transfer, it is understood, will take place shortly. Our Masterton correspondent telegraphs : It is reported that the Government proposes using Featherston Camp as an iniemment camp for Germans, a sanatorium for consumptive soldiers, and an isolation camp for two hundred men in quarantine on an island at Dunedin. The Wairarapa Age protests strongly against. th 6 latter class of soldiers being located in the Wairarapa, and asks for a statement by the Minister on the subject
