LODGE MEETING
Poneke (Lodge, No. 21, U.A OD. ! (Petone), held its fortnightly meeting on Monday, and was presided over by the j Ji.P. A.',. Bro. Kearney: The amount of £218 9a 8d was received on ! quarter nig'ty. £81 7s 8d was passed' for sick pay. Two candidates presented themselves, arid were duly initiated, while one' member was admitted on clearance. At 9 p.m. the J.P.A. read the memorial service for fallen soldier brethren. The secretary was instructed to'write to the relatives of two deceased brothers—A.D. Bro. Simpson and P.A. Bro. Eatoncondoling with* them on their loss. 6ne nomination was received the office of V.A., and Bro. Patey was declared elected.' P.A. Bro. Todd', of MuDgaroa Lodge, was nominated for the office of D.P. by this lodge. Two delegates were .elected for the district board, namely, P.p.P. Bro. Price and • P.D.P. Bro. Qough. Bro. P. List was elected lodge musician. The following officers: were elected for the ensuing term, and were installed by P;D.P. Bro. R. S. Cunliffe, assisted by P.D;P.- Bro. Gough":—A;D., Bro.' Clark;" y^A., Bro. Patcy; secretary, Bro! E. King: treasurer,' P.A. Bro. Davis • 1.G., Bro. Woolfoid; 0.G., Bro. Kearney; A.D.B:'s, Bros. Skinner and Edwards; •V.A.B.'s, Bros. S. King and Alty; J.P.A., Bro. Collett; M.S., Bro. Brownhill. . It was resolved to send a| letter of thanks to the two local doctors for their great energy during the epidemic, and th« good work done by them. PvA. Bro. Kearney is to be presented with a P.A. collar and diploma, and his name is to be placed i on, the merit board. A i hearty vote of thanks was accorded visiting brothers, namely, Bro. Pitcher, P.A.
