BOWLING
THE DOMINION TOURNAMENT:
A new principle is to be adopted in connection with the foll-rink competition at the Dominion bowling tournament, to be held in Auckland next month. The rinks will be divided into flections of ten, on the system adopted at Dunedin at the last tournament. No team can qualify for semi-finals with leas than six wins. '. After the conclusion of section play the "two losses" principle will be adopted, winners playing winners and .losers. , The time .limit for rink play will De "two and 'three-" quarter hours. In connection with the tournament, a match, Auckland Province v. Visitors, will be played 1 on the Eemuera bowling green on 9th January, the day set apart as "Ladies' Day."
A conference of delegates to meet members of the bowling council •will be held in' the Chamber of Commerce on 13th January.
A committee, consisting, of Messrs. A. Parsons, Kilgour, Long, and M: M'Callum, be responsible for'the grading of greene.for the tournament. .
The date on which entries close has been <'extended from i'ith December to 21st December. This date is final.
