SOUTH AFRICAN WOOL
IMPERIAL PURCHASE. (UNITED ?«tSS ASSOCIATION.—COPTMMT.) (RIOTER'S TIUGRAH.) PRETORIA, 7th December. A message states that in reply to the request of the Wool Conference that the Imperial Government should renew the wool .purchase scheme, the Government offers to purchase South African wool at 55 per cent, above the 1914 prices, provided it is registered before 20th December. A condition is that' the offer is withdrawable unless at least 200,000 bales are registered. The Union; Government has requested the Imperial Government to waive the latter condition and extend the date to Ist January.
