THE SOLDIERS' BONUS
In explaining tne provision in the Expeditionary Forces Amendment Act for the payment of a bonus to soldiers and their dependents, Sir Francis Bell said that the scale and the amount of the bonus were difficult to arrange. Parliament would have the opportunity of reviewing the ecals in June. Ec apprehended that the bonus would be greater than the gratuity payable to soldiers on discharge or "their dependents in England.
