THE PORT SYDNEY. j The local office of the C. and D. Line received word yesterday afternoon that the Port Sydney arrived at Sydney on Wednesday from Port Staid. The vessel will leave Sydney on Thursday for Whangarei, where she is due on the 17th December. . She will then load at Whakatane and Wellington. She will leave here early in January for Egypt, 'j, PERSONAL. Mr. C. McLean has signed on the Monowai as second engineer, and Hr. W. Cairns, late of the Kittawa, has replaced Mr. O. H. Stevens as fourth engineer. Captain J. W, Candlish has taken Captain D. Hanning's place as master of the Huia. Mr. H. Anderson, chief officer of the Monowai, has come ashore. - The Union Company announces that the It.M.S. Niagara arrived at Vancouver on Tuesday from Auckland. The vessel will sail on the return voyage at the end of next week. The F. and S. liner Dorset is now due at ■Wellington on Monday from Auckland to load for Egypt; She will leave here for Fort Said on Sunday, 15th December. The departure of the F. and S. liner Devon from Sydney for Waitara has been postponed until to-morrow. She will load at New Zealand ports for Egypt. The steamer Joan Craig, now due. at Lyttelton from Newcastle, is to bring' a general cargo to Wellington from the Canterbury port. She is due hero on Wednesday, and will proceed from here to Nydiit Bay and Greymouth to load for Australia.
