"THE MESSIAH."
Satnrday, 01st December, is the date fixed for the production of Handel's masterpiece, "The Messiah," by the Choral Society in the Town Hall. The cast of soloists is as follows:—Soprano, Madame Bella Russell, of Auckland; contralto, Miss Mina Caldow; tenor, Mr. Sydney Butler, of Auckland; baritone, Mr. John Prome. Performing members t are notified in onr advertising columns that practices will be resumed on Tuesday next, 10th December, in St. Peter's Schoolroom, Ghuznee-street, at 8 p.m., for chorus and orchestra. Practice will also be held in the same hall on Thursday (12th) and Tuesday (17th). This will be Mr. Robert Parker's final effort, as he retires from conducting after this year.
