NOT SPANISH INFLUENZA. ((WITH) FMSS ASSOCIATION.—COPTMSHT.) • MELBOURNE, 4th December. The Minister of Health states that there is nothing to warrant the suggestion that pneumonic-influenza has reached Melbourne. Investigation shoWed that the cases treated in hospital 'were ordinary influenza, and not connected with the Spanish type.
Mr. R. 'A. Wright, M.P., in forwarding, to Mrs. W. R. Plimmer, superintendent of the Khandallah Vigilance Committee, a donation of £3 3s, congratulates the committee»on the excellent service which it had rendered to the community, —service which no doubt had saved many live*.' The following are additional donations to the Petone Mayor's Distress Fund: — Upton and Allies Knitting Guild £2 2s each, Misses Stanton £2, W. Purdon £1, — Schofield and Mrs. Looney 10s each.
