THE LATE MR. D. ROBERTSON

The funeral of the late Mr. D. Robertson, of Roxburgh-street, took place yesterday, and was followed by a largo number of friends of tho late gentleman. There was a brief service at the house, conducted by the Rev. Jam^s Pateraon and Rev. J. Kennedy Elliott, D.D., tho latter conducting the service at the graveside. The chief mouimers were Messrs. James, David, and William Robertson (rons of the deceased), and Messrs. W. F. Newson, R. M. Virtue, and G. L. Bannatyne '(sons-in-law). Among those present were a large .representation from the staff of the Phoenix Foundry, Messrs. William Cable and William Grabtree (fellow iron founders), the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Lul{e|, Hon. J. G. W. Aitken, M.L.C., Mr. Thomas Forayth (chairman of the Wellington Education Board), Mr. H.Baldwin (chairman of the Wellington Hospital and . Charitable Aid Board), Mr. H. P. Allen (secretary of the Wellington Industrial Association and the New Zealand Ironmasters' Association), Mr. H. Mainland (president of the Centi«l . Industrial Association), Mr. C M. Luke (president of the Central Chamber of Commerce). Mr. Robert Scott (chairman of the Clyde-quay School Committee), Messrs. William Foster, George MacMorran, W. M. Hannay, James Mitchell, J. Robin,. Georgo "Wilson, James Jack, James Hiitcheu, William Rirnigay, Alex. Veitch, Roderick M'Kenzie, D. M'Laren, J. E. Jenkinson, and Captain Harvey. The Clyde-quay School Committee (of which the late Mr. Robertson was chairman for over a quarter of a century) and the office-bearers of the Kent-terrace Church • were among those who sent wreaths. .
