The funeral of the late Mr. W. B. Darroch, a member of the staff of His Majesty's Theatre, who succumbed to influenza—took place yesterday. Deceased, who was 42 years of age, has left a widow and four children. He was a brother of Mr. Robt. Darroch, headmaster of the Roseneath school.
The* following maintenance cases were dealt with byrMi-. Frazer, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court this morning :— David 1 James, who had disregarded the provisions of n maintenance order made against him until £9 12s 6d arrears had mounted up, was sentenced to 30 days' imprisonment at New Plymouth, the warrant to be suspended as long as £1 7s 6d per week is paid. A guinea costs were allowed against him. lieorge Richards, who had allowed £4 arrears to mount up, was sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended as long as £2 per week is paid, on the application of his wife John Trembath was ordered to contribute £1 per week towards the support of a child.
