A DIFFICULT CASE

A youth named Oswald Harris was brought before his Honour Mr. Justice Chapman in the Supreme Conrt this afternoon for sentence on a charge of indecent assault on another male at New Plymouth in May last. The circumstances were rather peculiar. On the date mentioned the accused was admitted to probation for three years upon the charge, but in September he was convicted of an assault upon a sixteen-year-old girl at Hawera,' and on that occasion he was bound over under surety to keep the peace for six months. His Honour said he found it very difficult to deal with the yonth ;■' he did not really know what to do with ■ him. Sentence would be deferred. '
