It is believed that the majority, are.'suffering from influenza. ■ Again to-day a num- l her of men reported sick, and unless theweather clears the authorities will experience great difficulty in dealing with the rush-hour traffic this evening. Oh Saturday evening overcrowding was very pronounced.' ' .;:.'.' . ' .' ' NThe twenty minutes' evening service on. the Wallace-street; and Oriental Bay lines will be continued, until further nqtice. In several other directions the time-table has been -readjusted in the hope that the limited number of cars available will be better able to cope with the traffic. While public inconvenience is regretted, it cannot be avoided.
The Island Bay Municipal.' Electors' Association, at its.last : ' 'meeting, ■■ ■ considered the tramway difficulty, and the following.motion was carried unanimously :—"That' this association suggests to the council and the Tramway Union.that/iri'.yiew'of :the great"inconvenience to the public\generally caused by the present tramway trouble, the parties.be urged,;' with a,'view to' a'speedy .settlement, to meet in conference under the presidency of '.a.
