On the right the Fifth and Forty-second Diyisibiia had heavy fighting last night about Beau Camp ridge, where the enemy counterattacked strongly in the morning. They overcame Hie enemy resistance-ih this Ideality,, and pressed forward two miles beypnd,:Capturing;the highly organised defences, called the Highlands, and the-, Wel&li 'i'idges. ; Later the success, extended south, atid we captured Gbuzeaucourt. The Sixty-second Yofkehiro Division captured Marcoiug, and progressed : solith-eart of that place. The Fifth Battalion (Duke of Wellington's) forced the crossings oF the Canal dd l'Eseault, at Marcoing, and established itself in the German defences oft the east bank north of MaKoing.
