A meeting of those ladies who hold blue tickets for the dances held at Syd-ney-street Soldiers' Club is called for Monday next at 5.15 p.m., in the club gymnasium. It is hoped that . every ticket-holder will make an effort to attend. ..■-... .

Very good-business was done at St. Mary's rebuilding bazaar.last night. The side-shows were well patronised, and surprise packets found ready sale. * The Wellington Patriotic Band supplied an excellent programme of music, and a special feature of the evening's entertainment was the dancing-by'. Miss Gladys Campbell's talented pupils, which was highly appreciated by all present. Mr. Malini delighted the audience with an exhibition of his legerdemain. The result .of the queen competition shows the Altar Society queen, Miss Eileen O'Brien, in the lead, with the Hibernian queen, Miss Maureen Griffen, second,' and the Hostel queen, Miss Bridge Hackett, third. The bazaar will.be continued on Monday evening.

He following motion of sympathy and condolence was passed on Friday afternoon at the meeting of the. Soldiers' Wives' Club (W.N.R.), in. refea-ence to the great loss sustained 1 by Mrs. Hampion, one of the most earnest workers in connection with -the club :—"This club of soldiers' wives desires to. convey to the widow and family ofl'the late Private W. H. Hampton their sincere and deep sympathy at the loss in action of the'brave soldier so well-known \to a large circle of friends, and acquaintances as an exemplary husband and father. The example set by him in volunteering to fight in the battle fields of the Empire for freedom and right to all has, by his noble sacrifice in furtherance of his conceived principles, placed before us an example worthy of record in the annals of New Zealand heroes.' A copy of this resolution to be forwarded! to Sir James Allen, Minister of Defence!"

The wedding of Miss Mary Annie (Mamie) Madeley, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Madeley, of Suseex-street, Wellington, and Mr. F. G-. Bourne, a. returned soldier, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Bournef Pipiriki, Wanganui, took place at St. Marie's Church on 25th September, when ' the Rev. Q. F. Askew officiated. The bride wore a white gown trimmed, with filet' lace, and a veil arranged over a coronet of orange blossoms, and spray also being used to decorate her sash. The bridal bouquet was of choice white roses and maidenhair fern- The bridesmaids were Miss Mabel M'Cormick (Hastings),- and Miss Doris Madeley (Masterfcon), who wore dainty white frocks and black hats, with touches otblue and pink respectively, while their bouquets were of blue and pink hyacinths and maidenhair. A little maid, Enid Gledhill, of Hataitai, was also- in white,. 1 with a mole cap of net and lace^ trimmed with yellow primroses, and she carried a posy of the same flowers. The bridegroom's presents to the elder bridesmaids, were gold circlet brooches, and to the little one a string of pearls. Mr. P. Burge, of Wellington, wae the best man; Tie church was decorated with arum lilies by the "Decorative\ Guild," of which the bride was a member. Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Bourne left later in theday for a visit to Wanganui.
