WELSH SOCIETY

The quarterly social gathering of the Welsh Society of Wellington was held at Godber's Rooms, Courtenay-place, on Saturday night* last. Visitors from Wales, Australia, and America were present, and a portion of the. choir from the soldiers' camp at Featherston. The programme consisted of solos, duets, and quartettes by the choir from camp, and Misses Jones and Tucker, Messrs. Glanraore, Jenkins, T. Jeriitins, J. Tucker, J. Price, and J. Cormell, and encores were in demand. Mr. and Miss Lewis accompanied in a very able and artistic manner. A resolution of sympathy was passed to members and friends, who had lost sons at the war. A resolution congratulating the Eight Honourable D. Llc»/d George, Premier of Great Britain, on his great efforts for justice and freedom during the present war was carried unanimously, with great enthusiasm, and the secretary was instructed to send a copy of the resolution to London.
