LODGE MEETINGS
At the fortnightly meeting of the Holly Lodge (No. 14, U.A.0.D., Johnsonville) the Bards reported two members on the sick list, and £2 14s sick pay was passed for, payment. The lodge was favoured with an official visit from Excelsior Lodge, No. 11, who brought out a small orchestra., under Bro. W. M'Laughlan. The event of the evening was the presentation of a collar and diploma to P.A. Bro. W. S. Fisher and P.A. Bro. W. H. Homer. The lodge finished its business early, and the presentation was made in public. Bro. J. Johnson, P.D.P., in making the presentation, outlined the benefits of the society and the good work done by the two brothers honoured that evening. Bro. C. D. Hargreaves, P.D.P., acted as M.C.. A social and dance followed. Miss Hogg gave a fine exhibition of highland dancing. Bro. R.. Anderson played the pipes. A special feature of tho evening was the comic songs of Mr. V. Fraser, sung to his own accompaniments. "Auld Lang Syne" and the National Anthem brought the evening to a close.
