ASSOCIATION GAME
The final match for the Wellington Association, played at Association. Park on Saturday, resulted in a win for Porirua over MarLst by one goal to nil. The points gained toy the six senior teams are :■—
Porirua: Played 10, won 7, lost 1, drawn 2; 16 points. Marist: Played 8, won. 5, lost 1, drawn 2; 12 points. V.M.C.'A.: Played 8, won 5, lost 2, drawn 1; 11 points. St. David's: Played 6, won 3, lost 3, drawn 0; 6 .points. Thistle: Played 9, won 2, lost 6, drawn 1; 5 points. Institute: Played 9, won 0, lost 9, drawn 0; 0 points. Though Institaute, who played senior grade soccer for the first time this season, came down in all their games, the team at no time lost its dash and enthusiasm, turning out to .time on city or suburban grounds, and plaiying- interesting and keen football.
The Charity Cup competition will commence among senior teams on Saturday. The competition will be decided on the knock-out principle, each defeated team dropping out till tho final is reached. ,
On Saturday the ■ Marist Newtown soccer eleven proved too good for tho Seatoun boys in a match at Seatoun Park, when they won nicely by five goals to nil. Tho Marist team gave an excellent exposition of Association football, worthy of a higher grade, never giving ithe Seatoun boys an opportunity for close play. The Marist backs and Barton (half)* gave away no chances. Warren was excellent on the left wing, and scored two goals, Johns (centre) adding the other three. The Seatoun backs, Taylor and Masters, played » good sound game, and the halves pnt in a lot of work, but the forwards were somewhat slow.
Institute and' Seatoun C provided the 2 o'clock match, the latter team winning by eight goals to nil.
