(Received August 19, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, 18th August. All reports from the Midlands testify that the corn harvest and i-oot crops are likely to be exceptionally heavy. The State subsidy to enable bakers to sell tho quartern loaf at ninepence, which was estimated at £40,000,000, has now reached £60,000,000.
