FRENCH CRUISER LOST
TORPEDOED IN THE ATLANTIC.

PARIS, 18th August.
The old armoured cruiser Dupetib Thouars (9367 tons, built in 1901-5), cooperating with a naval patrol in the Atlantic, was torpedoed on the 7th. American destroyers rescued the crew. Thirteen are missing.
