"THE DEEMSTER."
Fullness and fertility of interest which keeps one constantly on the alert; no fragmentary adaptation, but a comprehensive and faithful adherence to the book, is said to characterise Hall Caine's latest superfeature, "The Deemster," which is to be unspooled for the first time in Wellington at the King's, commencing at 2 o'clock on Saturday next, under the direction of E. J. Carroll. Special music accompanies the film, and the King's orchestra will be strengthened for the occasion. "The Deemster" runs into eight thousand feet, and the interplay of character on character, the sequence of scenes and situations, the thrilling incidents and humorous interludes, the craftsmanship in construction, and the superlative photography are claimed to challenge comparison with the best modern superfeatures. Derwent Hall Came, son of the author, appears as the hero, Dan Mylrea, and Miss Marian Swayne has been enticed from the legitimate stage in New York to play the heroine, Mona Mylrea. "The Deemster" wi] be screened four times daily, as advertised.
