AUSTRALIA'S MEAT PROBLEM
EXPORT SUPPLIES TO BE
RELEASED
MELBOURNE, 16th August.
The Federal Government has appointed a Meal Administration, with Sir Owen Cox as controller, in order to relieve the shortage. It has been decided to releaso supptie* of meat awaiting export to Britain which are unable to obtain despatch owing to the dearth of shipping. The Administration will sell to retail butchers sufficient to cover the shortage.
