For nearly twenty centuries the soldiers of Christ have volunteered and been fighting for a, cause which is in the throes of a world-war, a war of which the present European conflict is but a shadow. Many of our military officers and men have learnt in the African desert to value and appreciate and to know a little of what it has cost our bravo coun-try-women who havo left homo and comforts to labour for the cause of Christ year jn and year out, in many cases without salary or reward, in Mohammedan lands. Miss Perkins and her fellow lady workers in their little mission house situated near the desert and right on the dusty highway were honoured one morning by the officer commanding a trooj> of Australian Horse proceeding to Salonika, who halted his men and called upon them to give three ringing British cheers for the Egypt General Mission and its brave lady missionaries.
