POST-WAR REQUIREMENTS.
The Auto-Car—aii English motor journal—has been circularising the British car manufacturers concerning their preparations and plans Tor post-war business. The response was satisfactory. The probable post-war requirements will be for a low-priced four or five-seater car, in which the proportion of power to weight will be greater than was usual before the war. It will need, also, to be a better hill-climber, more economical in fuel, lighter of tires, better sprung, and more accessible. Bodies will probably be standardised. For overseas requirements it will be absolutely necessary to consult local conditions. The car will have to be very robust, so as to be able to traverse the rough country without breakages, and also must have adequate ground clearance. The gear ratio, also, must be lower, and the cooling more efficient. The AntoCar believes that the British manufacturers are fully alive to the post-war requirements of British and colonial buyers. Amongst other points which will have to be considered will be provision for dealing with heavy fuel, and much better suspension.
