RECRUITING PROGRESS

Cl DRAFTS.

There are at present 1346 reservists under orders to proceed to the Cl camps. The men are distributed as follows: — 12th Draft (27th to 30th Aug.) 571 13th Draft (24th to 27th Sept.) 412 14th Draft (22nd to 25th Oct.) 298 15th Draft (19th to 32nd Nov.) 53

A substantial percentage of the 5000 men examined on the last itinerary of the C 2 Re-axamination Board were classed 01, and the of the First Divison has not yet been completed. The position in regard to recruiting is ,at present a strong one. Fit A drafts up to November are well up to strength. Balloted men are not now being posted to the November drafts, but volunteers are still being accepted for that month. The position, however, is not such as to warrant? any reservist under orders to enter camp anticipating a postponement of the time fixed for concentration. Though the strength of reinforcement drafts has again been brought back to the figure obtaining before the German offensive commenced, it cannot be stated with any degree of certainty what the demands of the future will be.
