NOT FROM THE DUMP
: Messrs. Thomas Brown, Ltd., local agents, for the Pukemiro Colliers, Ltd., have received tho following communication from their principals:—"TheMayor's statement that slaxik coal now being sold in Wellington, has been stored at the pit head for years, is quite incorrect. As you are aware, Waikato slack quickly deteriorates, and it would not pay to lift it after it has once been dumped. All the slack we have sent to Wellington has been loaded into railway trucks the same day <is it has been mined." *
