SOLDIERS SENTENCED
For disobeying the lawful command of a superior officer, the following soldier has been sentenced by Featherston District Court-Martial to one year, and eleven months' hard labour : —87276 Pte. D. H. Day, Cl Details, Featherston. For desertion when under orders for active service and for loss of equipment, Pte. J. Ryan, Details, (late A Coy. 37th Reinforcements) lias been sentenced by Trentham District Court-Martial to 180 days' detention and stoppages of pay £2 9s 6d. '
Pte. S. F. Fountain, Details, sentenced to a term of imprisonment for disobedience of orders, has been pardoned by the Governor-General on joining the New Zealand Medical Corps. ~-
