LONDON, 14th August.

Sir .Douglas Haig reports: The battlefront is comparatively quiet, except foi increased hostile artillery fire. We took prisoners at several different points. Raiding patrol activity is reported south, of the Scarpe, north-east of Robecq, and in the neighbourhood of Vieux Berquin. Since Bth August the French First Army and the British Fourth Army have captured over 28,000 prisoners, including 800 officers, of whom eight are regimental commanders. Wo also took 600 guns, including many heavy guns, several thousand machine-guns, numerous trench mortars, and also three complete trains and vast stocks of stores.
