THE STEAMER AORERE
During the past three months, a wonderful change has come over the small steamer Aorere, which for a considerable period has been a familiar sight on the Wellington: waterfront. Her days of activity are not yet over, and to-day she once again bears a 6mart appearance. She was purchased' some time ago by the Eastbourne Borough Council for use as a harbour cargo carrier, and sines then. has been undergoing extensive repairs. The work is now nearly completed, and it is hoped that she will be ready for service by the end of the week. If these hopes are fulfilled, it is probable that the, Aorere will make a trial trip on Saturday afternoon next, when the councillors of Eastbourne will be taken for an excursion round the harbour. It is not likely that she will commence running in the cargo service for a month or so.
