Its appreciation of the long service of the Hon. J. G. W. Aitkon, M.L.C.,.as a'member, and more lately as chairman, of the Wellington Education Board, was placed on record by the Wellington branch of the Now Zea.land Educational Institute. A copy of the motion is to be forwarded to Mr. Aitken, regarding whose'services highly complimentary remarks were made. Similar motions wore passed in connection with the retirement of two other members of the board, -Mtsoi'C', Allen and Jiebbel.
