PROFIT-SHARING FAVOURED,
(DOTTED- PRESS' ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.)
BRISBANE, 19th July.
The annual conference of the Associaated Chambers of Manufacturers of Australia decided, in view of the great need of harmony between employer and employee, that efforts be made as far as practicable to give employees a financial interest in their work by profitsharing or a bonus on production.
It was resolved to support Mr. Hughes's advocacy of the retention of the German colonies in the Pacific.
Other resolutions favoured preference of employment to returned soldiers, the compulsory marking of all goods containing hot less than 33 per cent, of Australian material and made in Australia, and the pushing of efforts to educate the, people in the duty.of supporting Australian industry.
