SECONDARY SCHOOL AT MASTERTON

Mr. A. W. Hogg moved at the Education Board's meeting to-day that the board should support the proposal for the establishment of a secondary school at Masterton, and the disestablishment of the District High. School. Mr. Hogg said be believed that it was impossible to better the education: now being given at the District High School. The only advantage in the proposed change that he could see was that the secondary school wonid be under the control of the Board of Governors.

Mr. M'Callum suggested that it would be necessary to set up a board of establishment in connection with the newsecondary school. That had been their experience in Marlboroujrh. It was decided to recommend the proposal to the Education. Department.
