RUGBY FOOTBALL

Mr. D. D. Weir presided over a meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union last evening. The Oriental Club is to be informed that owing to playero over age having been played in fifth class matches, the games in which those v members had participated would have to be forfeited. The captain of the Petone junior team, who is stated to have struck an opponent in tho Petone-Wellington match, and, when eleven other members of his team left the field, did not induce them to return, was suspended until Ist May. 1919. The following programme of representative matches was approved :—Wellington v. Auckland, at Auckland, on 17th August, at Wellington on 7th September; Wellington v. Canterbury, at Christchureh, on 24th August, at Wellington on 31st August; Wellington v. Wairarapa, at Wellington on 17th Augj list, at Cartevton on 24th August.
