C CLASS BALLOT

IN PROGRESS TO-DAY.

The ballot to draw 5000 men from Class C, Second Division, was commenced by the Government Statistician (Mr. Malcolm Fraser) tlm morning, and should bo completed early this afternoon. Mr. S. E. M'Carthy, S.M., was the supervising Magistrate, and the Mayor (Mr.-J. P. Luke, C.M.G., M.P.) was also present. A visitor during the morning was Mr. F y. Frazer, S.M., of Wellington. The list, together with the accretions to the First Division, and Classes A and B, Second Division, will be published on Wednesday, 24th July.
