So far as theyaro concerned there need riot be a cow in the country, for they can and.must have their, natural food, and every woman worthy of the name of mother should endeavour to supply it.—l am, etc., AGED PARENT. tf
Of eight first-offending inebriates who were.dealt with by Mr. F. V. Frazer, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court this morning, sis were ordered to forfeit 20s, the amount of' the bail allowed them; a soldier, who pleaded guilty, was ordered to be handed over'to the military authorities ; and the other was fined ss. Donald Matheson and Thomas Farrell, second offenders, were fined ss, in default 24 hours in gaol, and 10s, in default 48 hours in tiie cells, respectively. The sum of £34, raised as tho result of concerts and collections on the Moeralri has been handed to the Shipwreck j Eelief Society by the master of th« I vessel (Captain Collins). .
