PRODUCE HELD UP
Speaking with reference to the Dominion's chief export products, Mr. W. A. Bennett, general manager of the New Zealand Shipping Co., is reported to have predicted congestion' in regard to wool by midsummer. "In the North Island, however," he went on, "the woolbrokers are increasing* their storage accommodation, which, I regret to say, is not being done in the South Island to any etxent. There aro about 370,000 bales of wool still in storo in the Dominion. When it is considered tliat the total clip of New Zealand is a little over '600,000 bales, and that ,by the end of August that is generally all cleared off, it looks as if we will enter into the new Keasoii with haff of last season's clip on hand. With respect to frozen meat, at the end of June there were in tho freezing works of the Dominion about 5,200,000 freight carcases, while the storage capacity is about 6,500,000 freight carcases. The new killings come in in November." -
