A DISTINCT GAIN FOR THE ALLIES

LONDON, 13th July. The newspapers in London consider the appointment of Yon Hintze a distinct gain for the Allies, as Yon Kuhlmann's policy of compromise was more :• dangerous, because it was'more feasible than the reactionary idea for crushing ■ the Allies. ' A telegram from Amsterdam states that there is uneasiness in Holland as '■ the result of Yon Hintze's appointment, which is reflected in the fall of almost all securties on the Amsterdam and Rotterdam Exchanges, The Berliner Tageblatt says that, despite all official assurances to the contrary, Yon Hintze's appointment is a triumph' for the VoniTirpitz clique, and . is well recognised as such at home and abroad. The Vorwaerts, in contributing inspired reports, asserts that a change of policy is impending, which will produce an absolutely devastating effect on German interests. , ■ ■ •
