At the time of his death the late Mr. G. C. B. Harper was the owner of the estate on the Wanganui River which had been made a gift to the late Dr. Earl Featherston for his public services in New Zealand in the early days. The property was purchased from the Featherston. trustees by Mr. Owen, at one time in business as a chemist in Mannersstreet, and he sold it to Mr. Harper. .
The friends of the Rev.' W. and Mrs. Ballachy will be grieved to hear of the death of their younger son, Mr. George P. Ballachey, which took place quite unexpectedly early yesterday morning. He was buried this afternoon in St. Mary's Church-yard, Karori. The funeral, which was of a quite private character, was conducted by the Rev. W. Fancourt and the Rev. G. T. Woodward.
