(ADS. AND N.Z. CABLB ASSN. AND KBDTER.)
LONDON, 12th June, 4.20 p.m.
A French communique states : Between Montdidier and the Oise tho battle continued without any great change yesterday evening. Last night on the left all the enemy's attempts to counter-attack were shattered. We progressed east of Mery and the Senlis Wood. The Gerimans, by violent attacks, also attempted to drive us back on the Aronde on the front St. Maur-Desloges Farm-Antheuil. We bore the shock, inflicted very heavy losses on the attackers, and maintained the positions. The Germans are attacking between the Aisne and the forest of Villers Cotterets. Desperate fighting is proceeding.
