Mr. T. B. Tripe, at one time accountant at the Wellington office of the Union S.S. Company, and now manager of the Launceston branch, is on a holiday visit to Wellington. Mr. H. Ernest Leighton' reports that at the unreserved clearance eale on account of Mrs. Anstis, held at Paraparumu on Monday, there was a good attendance, and bidding was spirited. Hacks sold up to £12, brood mare and foal £5, sheep clogs from £5 5s to £8, pullets 15s pair, ducks, 10s pair. Furniture, topis, and 6undrics all brought highly satisfactory figures. Messrs. Williams and Co., Ltd., will sell by_ public auction, to-morrow, at 2 p.m., in the Arcade, Courtenay-place, furniture and poultry. Messrs. Thomson, Brown, and East, 189, Featherston-street, insert in this issue a fresh lot of homes for sale. Messrs. A. L. Wilson and Co. will sell by auction, at their rooms, on _ Wednesday next, at 12 o'clock, the racing maro Fashion Plate.
