MANAWATU ART UNION
IN AID OF THE SICK AND : WOUNDED. In our 1 advertising columns to-night appear details of the Manawatu Patriotic Society's art union, which is part of the campaign to raise £20,000 for Manawatu sick and wounded. Thirty-five prizes are offered, valued at over £2000, the first being a new motor-car valued at £500, presented by the flaxmillers of the district. The committee has a standing offer of £400 for the car. The other prizes, include flections at Levin, racehorses, piano, gig, dray, goods, bicycle, typewriter, etc. The art union closes definitely on 23rd March.
