-A high British officer, in an interview publisched in the Matin, says: "The Germans must precipitate an assault, and make an effort to finish things at all costs, in order to justify the promisesmade to the troops. The Germane believed, they could agitate us by the threat of an offensive and accounts of their preparations. We know ' how to value these accounts."
