SYDNEY, 19th February. According to Melbourne advices Desert Gold's half-mile yesterday was done in 494 sec, the season's record. She ran with hock boots on, and was not fully extended. ■ Critics consider that she could have equalled Woorak's record of 49aec if she had been asked.
