(BI TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
AUCKLAND, This Day. The Arbitration Court heard a dispute in the soft goods trade, together with a demand by packers . for- improved conditions of employment. Mr. Justice Stringer said that a very important principle was involved in each case.' 'A small body of the employees sought 'to compel the settlement of a dispute between workers and employers, while the bulk of the employers expressed themselves satisfied with the existing conditions. He would hear evidence as to the general conditions, and if it were shewn that the conditions, were not satisfactory, he would; refer the dispute back to the Conciliation Council. After hearing evidence called by the unions; the Court reserved its decision. . ■ ■ ;
