MEETING OF THE WELLINGTON

ASSOCIATION.

In the absence of the president, the vipe-president (Mr. L. T. Watkins) pre-, sided. over a 'meeting of members of the Wellington Industrial Association last evening.

Three applications, fpr membership were' received—from Cathie and Sons, of Victoria-street, the Equity Boot and Shoe Manufacturing Co., and the Vacuum Cleaning Co, pf Grey-street. All tne applications ivpre accepted, The Association recently wrote to Mr. J. -Brown, of Messrs. Methven, Ltd., of gunedin,. urging the formation of an industrial association at the southern city. Last evening a reply -was received from that gentleman, pointing out that there -were already in existence several trade associations and. corporations. It was decided to forward a letter to the Dunedin Manufacturers' Association inviting them, if their sympathies and aims are in lino.with those of the Industrial Association, to link their forces with tlie New Zealand Corporation. This was moved by Mr. Vickerman, and seconded By Mr. Bfillinger.

Professor T. H. JUasterfield wrote stating that he would take pleasure in acting as judge in the essay competition on the subject of waste products? The competition will take place about Easter time. It was. decided to recommend that the annual meeting of the New Zealand Industrial Corporation be held on Wednesday, 13th March. The meeting is to be. held in Wellington!
