DURBAN, 17th February.
Torrential rains have occurred in~*the Transvaal, Natal, and Mozambique. There have been many washaways and bridge collapses. The Railway Department ie adviaed that 300 persons have been drowned at Mnzutie, Zululand. ' A later message from the Unsfolosi sugar district, in Zululand, states that there is a scene of disaster, following the great storm. The river swept over the village, inundated a large sugar a,rea, and wrecked the splendid railway bridge. Sixty-three out of 300 European residents in the valley are missing. Others are taking refuge on the roof of the sugar mill. It is feared that the loss.of Indian and native lives is heavy. Railway ,and telegraphic communication i« interrupted. (REOTER'S TELEGRAM.) (Received February 19, 9 a.m.). DURBAN, 18th February. The flood in Unsfolosi" swept away the railway sation, an hotel, and a hundred Indian native cottages. ■' :
