QUEENSLAND POLITICS
PREMIER'S POLICY SPEECH.

BRISBANE, This D,ay. The Premier (Mr. Ryan) in his policy speech, made at Townsville, said the Government had reserved 3,684,432 acres, capable of settling 16,000 returned soldiers. A fruit canning- factory is to be established at 'a cost of £40,000. The Government will. establish a State line of steamships, and arrangements will be made to test saltpans on the coast, with a view to producing salt locally.
