SHORTT' THEATRE.

Francis X. Bushman and Beverley Bayne are the principal players in "The Adopted Son," which heads the new bill at Shortt'e Theatre. . This is a six-reel Metro super-feature, and it is marked by the attention to detail, excellence of photography, and vividness, which characterise the productions from the Metro studio. The part of "Two-gun" Carter was made for Francis Bushman, for it is a role which calls for great strength and skill in gun-play, besides the manly bearing and splendid appearance which distingunsh this favourite of the screen. Beverley Bayne is also well suited as the charming Marion Conover. The plot is woven around a Tennessee mountain feud, and the viay in which it was ended. All through the play is tensely dramatic, and the romantic element is cleverly introduced. Crowds have seen the picture already, and have ■commented most favourably upon it. Supporting items also are of excellent quality.
