FINAL DAY

DUNEDIN, 16th February. The Dmiedin Autumn Meeting was concluded , to-day. There was a thick drizzle in town all day, but practically no rain at Wingatui. The attendance was good. The totalisator handled £24,----399 10s, compared with £22,472 10s ;on the corresponding day last year. The total for the meeting was £47,672,. as against £40,609 10s for the corresponding two days of the three-day meeting in 1917.

The Judicial Committee enquired into a matter which occurred on. Thursday in the Berwick Handicap.. It found that R. Ellis and the rider of Benefit improperly crossed Point Blank and Placid, but was not satisfied that the crossing was intentional. Remaining results :—

Warrington Handicap, of 100 soys; seven furlongs.—l Michaela, 8.13 (F. Anderton), 1; 7 Ay cliff, 8.6, 2; 3 Harlequin, 8.3, 3. Also started : 4 Kazan 9.10, 2 Mortham 8.12,5 ■"Benefit 8.11, 6 Micky Free 8.5, 8 Partisan 8.3,' 10 Burrangong 7.7, 11 Wingfornv 7.7, 9 Red Tape 7;7. From a good start,- Benefit got a slight lead from Mortham and Aycliff. Michaela took charge turning for home, and won by four lengths, the third horse three-quarters of a length away. Time, lmin 28 2-ssec.

Hazlett Memorial Plate, of 300. soys ; one mile.—l Fiery Cross, 9.12 (j. Campbell), 1; 3' Wardanoer, 9.4, 2; 2 Kilnieedy, 8.2, S. Kilmeedy and Fiei'y Cross took the lead, with Wardahcer three lengths away. Wardancer challenged Fiery Cross at the three furlong post, hut the favourite won by nearly a length, Kilmeedy, easing up, four lengths away. Time, lmjii 39 4:ssec —a record for the course.

Hopeful Handicap, of 150 soys; five furlongs.—4 Torfreda, 8.10 (Bagby), 1; p Scornful, 8.8, 2; 1 'Punka, 8.13, 3. Also started: 2 Lionskin 8.12, 7 Caverock 8.3, 6 Thistle Crown 7.13, 8 Anconia 7.10, 4 Preface 7.0. Torfreda was the first out, followed by Punka. Torfreda maintained the lead and won by half a length, a similar distance between- second and third. Time, lmin 2 3-ss.ee.

Elying Handicap, of 200 soys; six furlongs.—9 Glensponse, 7.7 (R. M'Clellan), 1; 1 Mohawk, 9.2, 2; 4 Kilboyne, 9.2, 3. Also started : 3 Golden King 8.7, 6 Helicon 8.0, 2 Tho White King 7.7, 6 Phil, May 7.6, 8 Achilledes 7.0, 10 Triple Entente'7.o, 7 Benefit 7.0. Glensponse took the lead from Mohawk and Kilboyne, and was never headed. Won by a short half length, the third a' neck away. Time, lmin 15 4-ssec. . ,

Waihola Handicap, of 100 soys; six furlongs.—2 Love Token, 8.2 (Bagby). 1; 10 Revolution, 8.0, 2; 9 Erroneous, 8.0, 3. Also started: 8 Rosevear 9.9, 1 Golden Prince 9.2, 6 Linden 9.2, 5 Rokelaine 8.8, 3 Barley Rigs 8.7, 7 Take Down 8!0, 4 Red River 8.0, 13 Arihia 8.0, 12 Adjustment 8.0, 11 Little Willie 8.0, 12 All Rain 8.0. Red River and Rokelaine were thesmartest to begin. Revolution joined the leaders turning into the straight, and was in charge at the distance, but failed to stall off Love Token, who won by a head. The third horse. was a length and a-half away. Time, lmin 13 4-ssec.

Abbotsford Welter, of 150 soys; seven furlongs.—B Spectual,' 7.7 (R. Reed), 1 ; 9 Majestikoff, 8.12, 2; 14 Achilledes, 8.6, 3. Also started: 15 King Star 9.0, 2 Redshire 8.13, 3 Probation 8.10, 11 Bon 8.9, 5 Battle Eve 8.9, 16 Awahou 8.9, 6 All Ready 8.8, 10 Redowa 8.6, 17 Merton 8.3, 12' Sir Malt 8.3, 1 Kilbrogan 8.3, 4 Multoe 7.11. 19 Micky Free 7.7, 7 Hyl.ius 7.7, 13 Warhawk _7.7, 18 Ogier 7.7.
