It was reported by cable from London last week that Capt.' Charles K. Ward, of the New Zealand Dental Corps, was missing. A further message states that Capt. Ward came back from Prance ill. His bicycle, hat,.and, letters have been found in the Thames. Capt. Ward is a third son of the Rev. 0. E. Ward, of Christchurch, and broSier of Mr. R. B. Ward, a Christchurch solicitor. He was married before leaving for England, and his wife is at present living in Wellington.
Mr. James O'Neill, an old resident of New Plymouth, is dead. As; a young man he served in the 80th Regiment, and after obtaining his discharge, emigrated to New Zealand. For over"3s years he was custodian of the Government Buildings in New Plymouth..
