The town of Muttaburra is flooded,cutting off all ; communicatioa j¥it^ Northern Queensland.
The Mackay Standard of 26th inrt* states that a break in the fine weathen occurred on the- 4th. When the cyclona struck i-he town."on the. 19th it was blowing from the south, later from the east, and ;fchen from the north, to which I was due a, great amount of the damage. , Thei main portion of the town is ii»> i runis, scarcely a building escaping. The cyclone continued with- unabated forca for fourteen hours. The rainfall \ for eighteen days was nearly four feet. ' So fai 1 nineteen bodies have beeri re* covered. It is understood that Townsville es-> caped the cycloiie. Coastal shipping •is now becominjf normal.
